We perhaps/maybe/might have eavesdropped on a few conversations this week. There is a book, I Was A Really Good Mom Before I Had Kids by Trisha Ashworth and Amy Mobile, that is the talk of our town.

Recently featured on The Today Show, this humorous-but-true book confesses the difficult reality of being a mother and offers solutions to the craziness of life with kids.

According to the authors, you need this book if:

  • you consider going to the dentist your special "alone time"
  • you're competitive about winning Chutes and Ladders
  • you reflexively refer to the bathroom as "the potty"
  • you once introduced yourself at an important business meeting as "Andrea's mom"
  • you'd trade your husband for a housekeeper.

We've read up through chapter 4. So far, we've learned that MANY moms feel the same way we do... overwhelmed, guilty for not doing this or that, less than perfect and struggling to juggle it all. This book features quips/confessions from moms all across the United States, "dirty little secrets" and quizzes to see if you are just like the rest of us.

Run to Barnes and Noble (on Dowlen Road in front of Parkdale Mall) or Books-A-Million (inside Parkdale Mall) and pick up your copy today. Great poolside reading!
