People volunteer for different reasons. It’s a great way to meet new people. It’s THE way to give back to your community. It’s a great way to live a life of gratitude for what has been given to you. Some organizations need occasional volunteering, some are organizations that you join & serve in a variety of programs on a regular basis. We are constantly researching opportunities for you to be involved in your community, so if you are apart of an organization in need of volunteers, email ashley@beaumontbuzz.com.

Bound 4 Life is a PRO LIFE organization which hosts Silent Sieges at Abortion Clinics and Courthouses. We gather there once a month (or more if possible) and wear Red Tape over our mouths with the word LIFE written on it. We do not protest or cause a disturbance or become hostile in any way. It is a SILENT prayer meeting, basically. We spend the time praying for God to end abortion and turn the nation back to Him. We may read our Bibles silently and claim God's promises for the nation. There are no riots or any ridiculous nonsense. Contact Robyn Doucet for more information.

Communities In Schools We are a youth drop-out prevention program that could use volunteers for tutoring, mentoring and other things. We work in conjunction with Beaumont and Port Arthur ISDs and have a total of 13 campuses we serve. See online at www.cisset.org or call

Junior Achievement We utilize volunteers from the community to teach personal financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness programs to students in grades K-12. Our programs are fully self-contained and one of our staff will sit down with each volunteer to give them a personal training session so they are completely comfortable with the materials before they ever walk into a classroom. We cover 9 counties and all the school districts that fall within. Each grade level has a particular program that is age appropriate and designed to be hands on. Junior Achievement brings the real world into the classroom by showing the students how academics and life work together. Our website is http://goldentriangle.ja.org <http://goldentriangle.ja.org/> and contains a complete listing of the programs. If you would like more information, please call me or email me! We currently have over 800 requests for our programs from teachers in the region. We have been able to get 400 committed volunteers – so you will see the great need!
We believe financial education is needed now more than ever considering the current economic meltdown the rest of the world is experiencing!
