Resolutions Schmesolutions?

Ok ladies, we’re more than a week into 2009. How we doing on those resolutions? Studies show that 45% of Americans today usually set New Year resolutions. But individuals aren’t the only ones with goals for the year ahead, area businesses have jumped on the resolution bandwagon as well.
Melanie Herring of Sweetpea combines her personal resolution with that of her business, stating that hers in no 9-5. “I would say my New Year’s resolution would be to better balance friends, family and my passion for creativity and crafting (including handcrafting jewelry and photography)! My personal and business life I would say are combined since I am foremost the stay-at-home mom of 2 and a small business owner.”
As their Volunteer Coordinator, Chrystin McClellan, has a goal for the Southeast Texas Humane Society: To “be active in the community and offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for local residents” in the coming year.
For the Whole Mothering Center, directors Amy Jones and Heather Thomas share their vision, “To promote awareness of options in women’s health care, particularly during pregnancy and childbirth, and to provide a resource for information on alternative practitioners and treatments to the local childbearing population.” On the personal front, Amy’s all about downsizing, wanting to get her house in order and “eBay, donate or throw away 50% of everything” in her home. Heather simply wants to “create more opportunities for couple time with my husband.”
Belle Maman remains steadfast in their commitment to their customers. Their goal is keeping both Beaumont mommies and babies in style for 2009.
