D'Vine Wine Bottling Party

My husband and I recently threw a bottling party (the guest list: my fab mama) at D’Vine Wine on Phelan. What a unique and exciting experience! About six weeks earlier we put in an order for our very own cask of Pinot Grigio (Dustin’s favorite) and that was it for the preparations on our part. They had the wine, sterilized bottles, corks, as well as our pre-ordered chilled wine and plate of crackers with tomato chutney- and jalapeno tapenade- covered cream cheese, ready for us when we arrived. After learning how to use the bottle filler, the hydraulic corking machine and wrap shrinker, we chatted with one of the owners, Mike Standley, while bottling our very own “private reserve,” as Dustin calls it. The whole thing took a little over an hour of chatting, wine-ing and snacking. Oh, and bottling. But mostly chatting and wine-ing.

I highly suggest this event for special occasions. My mom and I are going in halves on our own cask of Riesling for our birthdays in March.
