Did you get the email that circulated about $1 cosmetics at E.L.F.(eyes:lips:face)?
It's likely that you'd get excited about a cosmetics line carried by Bloomingdale's offering a limited time $1 on everything sale. We bet you'd even place an order! There was an email that circulated about E.L.F. Cosmetics making this very claim. While this email is not a scam, it is misleading. The products are only $1. However, they are $1 all the time. And, about that Bloomingdale's part...
However, here is what is posted on Bloomingdale's website:
"CONSUMER ALERT! Some of our customers have received emails regarding the eyeslipsface.com website. We want you to know that Bloomingdale's and Bloomingdale's by Mail are not affiliated with www.eyeslipface.com or the e.l.f product line, nor with any email regarding the website or product line, and we do not sell e.l.f. products. We are investigating the e-mails, which appear to have been the product of a party unrelated to either Eyes Lips Face Corp. or Bloomingdale's."
The origination of the email is unknown. While E.L.F. has received bad publicity over the stunt, they have also received a ton of orders! There are mixed reviews on the products. Some say you get what you pay for. Others say "what a cute gift!" We read over and over that the eyeliners are waxy, but the lipglosses are great. For a buck, what really can you expect?
Moral of the story: Do your homework before sending out forwarded emails!
