A Romantic Christmas

Christmas Eve is often reserved for family and not thought of as a “date night.” However, having family around also means… babysitters!!! Consider taking advantage of this built-in opportunity and take a late night Christmas Eve date. Perk? Since you’ll be out late, you won’t have to try to stay awake at home to help Santa! If you’re not up for going out on Christmas Eve, here are a few date & romance ideas to put that spark into your holiday.

If you are helping Santa put out his gifts, stay up late after the kids are tucked in and the gifts have gone out. Sit on the floor, remeninse about your childhood Christmases, and eat Santa’s cookies together- in peace and quiet!

Make your loved one a 365-day tear off calendar (either on your computer or at a printer like Kinko’s). On each page, write one reason you love him.

If you have purchased your loved one a really special gift for Christmas morning, hide clues throughout the house and make him work for it! The memory of searching for this gift will last a lifetime.

Do you have a Christmas anniversary? Start a new tradition- an ornament exchange! You each choose one ornament that signifies your experience during this last year together. Exchange on Christmas Eve.

Strapped for cash? Set aside $10 for you and $10 for him. Go to one store together to pick your gift out. Make sure you don’t get caught gift-hunting. The fun will be hiding from each other in the aisles! Best gift given gets to eat Santa’s cookies!

It’s not too late… find fresh mistletoe to hang in your home! Wrap a box full of Hershey’s kisses for Christmas morning. If you have left over mistletoe, tie it to the top of the box. He can take the box with him to work to remind him everyday of your “kisses”!
