Date Night
Hey Moms! This one is for you. Does your significant other need a little “help” in the romance department? Here’s a common situation for date night with your man…you are now a mom which means there is little time for you. You need to get ready for your date, yes, we mean Get Ready! Take a bubble bath, shave your legs, use a little more makeup & oh, maybe some perfume! Oh yeah, that’ll get him! Back to the whole you’re a mom thing… you don’t have time for any of this. You can’t really even remember how to do this (we can help). As for the “help” your significant other may need- has he forgotten what flowers are? From Merriam-Webster: flow•er- a plant cultivated for its blossoms. Moving on.
Now that we’ve covered the typical date night situation, we have a suggestion for how to actually have a true date night. Since you’ve had the kids at home all day, send them AWAY with a babysitter for the evening (consider the time of day; you may want them to spend the night out). While they are gone, then you can get ready properly as mentioned above. As for your significant other, who loves a scavenger hunt? Typically, when you go on a hunt, you receive items or information at each location. Why not put him on a hunt to pick up things for your date?!?! This will take a little prep work on your part because you want him to have fun, not feel insulted! Send him to the flower shop, to buy wine & pick up a new shirt (that you picked out already, of course.) Make cute cards with little poems or hinted phrases as to his next location. Final destination: You, at home, actually ready to go out (or stay in! In that case, disregard the rest of this article). Get this- you may even have to wait on HIM to get ready instead of vice versa.
Where can you go now that you are all dolled up?

What: Gather & Get Ready Date Night
When: ASAP
How: Ship kids off (check). Shave legs (sort of check). Make romance route for loved one (oh come on, it’ll be fun!).
Where to go: Suga’s (deep south cuisine) is a romantic restaurant located in Downtown Beaumont. The lights are dimmed low, the service is impeccably wonderful & you feel like you are somebody special (which you are!). Sometimes you can even catch a live piano player in action. So Grown-Up. Depending on whether you are in a “do something & have fun” or “sit here & gaze into my eyes” mood would depend on where you stop next. Try your hand at putt-putt (“honey, I need help with my swing!”) at Colorado Canyon on Folsom Rd. For a more relaxed entertain-me environment, check to see what show is in town at our historic Jefferson Theater. This theater is beautiful & has been recently renovated to restore its original grandeur. Great place to go since you’re all dolled up!
Late Night Happenings: Hey, what happens at your house, stays at your house.
