There's nothing like a good Girlfriend when you need a shoulder to cry on, someone to eat lunch with or someone to keep tabs on your diet. We'd like to introduce you to our newest Girlfriend... a 24/7 women's fitness facility opening October 15.
Do you have a Girlfriend that offers you FREE tanning (or 2 free months of gym membership if tanning's not your thing)? How about one that will exercise with you, chat, and encourage you to take time out for YOU? Man (ahem, Girl!), we all need someone like that!
Girlfriends is a workout concept that originated in Carl Junction, MO with the first facility opening in February of 2005. Loretta Coburn (featured photo right) had retired from teaching and was looking for something exciting to do with her time. Having graduated from college with a degree in Physical Fitness, Loretta decided to return to her first love. The Girlfriends gym concept was birthed after many chats with, well, Loretta's girlfriends. "Men may come and go, but Girlfriends are forever," sayeth Loretta. So, how did "Girlfriends" land in Beaumont, Texas? Meet Shannon Strahan (featured photo left), Loretta's daughter. Shannon and her husband Michael of Beaumont are now the proud owners of Texas' first Girlfriends.
