Q: What is the best way to care for my makeup brushes?

• Brush care: Synthetic brushes that you use for concealer and foundation need to be washed more often. MAC has a fantastic bottle of brush cleaner for only $10. A couple times a week, pour some onto a paper towel and wipe your brush over it. It takes out the color and is antibacterial. Besides that, wash your brushes with baby shampoo, under running water, rinse well, squeeze, and lay flat to dry overnight. Do this every couple of weeks at the least. Good brushes that are taken care of should last at least 5, up to 10 years.
