It's a Bug's Life

Connor Oliphant of Beaumont loves bugs and being outside. For his fourth birthday, mom Krista Oliphant got creative and celebrated with his two favorite things!

Borrow these ideas:

• A highlight of this Bug Birthday was having a local artist come to the party to sculpture a critter out of wood. The kids loved it! The artist even let the kids take a crack at chiseling their own piece of the artwork.
• The party favors, given out during the party instead of at the end, were bug catching kits. The kits were complete with a mesh sanctuary, magnifying glass and stickers to make the new bug sanctuary unique to each child.
• Birthday cake was covered in ants (sugar ones of course!).
• The invitations invited you to "slither on by."
• Best of all, the kids got down in the dirt! Even the girls had fun.
• With a little creativity, this mom made her child's birthday special, unique and memorable!
