When you watch the news, we often see stories of good youth gone bad. What are we teaching our children? Is generosity, kindness and love a thing of the past? Not for one Beaumont child.
Madeline Holecek, 4, asked her mom, "Can we have a Lemonade Stand for poor people?" Mom Kathy Holececk said of course because she knew Madeline had a good cause in mind. Not only did Kathy say "ok" to the stand, but she also promised to match whatever money Madeline makes. The money will be donated to a local charity. The Holecek family attend St. Jude's Catholic Church in Beaumont and there is no doubt that their faith has impacted Madeline's love for others.
Madeline needs your help! There are two things you can do:
Help Madeline choose a worthy charity to receive her donation. Email your suggestions to goodtimes@beaumontbuzz.com.
Help Madeline raise money! Enjoy a glass of lemonade at her Lemonade Stand THIS Saturday, May 5, beginning at 10 am. Location: 4715 Regina Lane in Beaumont. (Down the street from Regina Howell Elementary, one block south of Delaware).
Mom Kathy says she's so proud of Madeline for wanting to help other people. We are too! Way to go, Madeline!
