New Cell Phone Law
Texas is cracking down on cell phone use while driving. As of September 1, cell phone use in school zones will be prohibited. If caught, you will be given a fine of up to $200.
More restrictions:
Hand-held ban- drivers in school crossing zones (effective 09/01/09) in
Young drivers on all cell phones- intermediate license holders for the first twelve months (effective 09/01/09)
Bus drivers on all cell phones- bus drivers when a passenger 17 and younger is present
Texting Ban- bus drivers when a passenger 17 and younger is present; intermediate license holders for first twelve months; drivers in school crossing zones (effective 09/01/09)
