Meet Lucille, Kay, Casey, Katy, Carrie, Kallie & Maddie. 4 generations of beauty-advice giving women dating back to the first Merle Norman located in Beaumont.

Sisters, mothers, daughters, granddaughters & friends. That is the story behind how Merle Norman Cosmetic Studios came to Beaumont. Many Southeast Texas women have learned how to care for their skin & how to properly apply makeup since 1957 when Lucille Nolan Wright opened her first studio at the corner of Pearl & Orleans in the Hotel Beaumont building. Since then, 3 OTHER generations of women in her family have either owned, managed or worked in a Merle Norman. Many of you have been wearing their product since you were a teenager. Mrs. Wright worked hard to start her own business and pass down her Merle Norman tradition for generations to come. Having recently turned 85 years old, Mrs. Wright still works part-time with the Merle Norman Studios her daughter Kay Beard owns today. Kay began working for her mother when she was only 11 years old and has owned 10 studios at various times since then. Today, Kay owns the studios at Parkdale Mall & Central Mall. Kay teaches her team of beauty advisors to focus on her own specialty- skincare. Applying makeup is similar to what an artist does with paint on canvas. If the canvas isn’t prepared properly, the paint will not portray the artist’s work at its best. In 2007, this family of women will be celebrating their 50th anniversary in the beauty business- providing personal attention to every customer during every Merle Norman visit (and giving FREE makeovers!).
