Beaumont, TX- Governor Rick Perry will be in Beaumont on Friday, June 8, 2007, at 11:45 a.m. to sign the seat belt legislation that requires seat belts on school buses.  This law, passed with the leadership of our own Senator Tommy Williams, Representative Tuffy Hamilton, and others, is a direct response to the bus accident involving the West Brook High School Soccer Team.

The Governor will sign the bill into law at West Brook High School.

This is a great opportunity for our area, and it indicates Governor Perry’s concern for the West Brook students and their families affected by the bus accident.

Parents and students alike are requesting your presence at the signing to show your support in the passing of this important legislation.
