BEAUMONT, Texas– The Beaumont Convention & Visitors Bureau officially kicks off the Beaumont Blast of Family Fun summer time tourism promotion and is ready for an influx of Texas visitors. Tourists can pick up a Beaumont Family Fun Book of Savings at Texas Travel Information Centers, AAA Travel Centers, or by calling the Beaumont CVB.

The Beaumont Blast of Family Fun Book is packed with more than $1,000 in savings. It is perfect for budget conscious families and couples looking to have a wonderful time without spending a lot of money. The Fun Book contains special hotel discounts and savings at Beaumont’s attractions and restaurants. Plus, when visitors stay at a participating hotel, they will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $500 Parkdale Mall Gift Card.

“With fuel prices on the rise, Beaumont offers families a great way to stretch their hard earned dollars and enjoy a blast of family fun!” said CVB Director of Tourism, Javier Rodriguez.

Gator Country is Beaumont’s newest attraction, and this summer is the time to visit. Gator Country is an alligator theme park where guests can see the lifespan of an alligator and get up close and personal with nature’s wild. With hands-on activities like holding the baby gators to “fishing” for a gator, the whole family will enjoy Gator Country. Gator Country is home to more than 125 alligators including “Big Al”, the largest alligator in captivity in Texas.

Other family-friendly activities include museums in Beaumont’s Historic Downtown Museum District like the Texas Energy Museum where interactive exhibits tell the history of oil from the time in 1901 when the Lucas Gusher blew to the present day petroleum industry and how it all works. If you’re visiting Beaumont, be sure and plan to visit the Spindeltop/Gladys City Museum where the world’s only working replica gusher blows the first Saturday of every month.

Hotels participating in Beaumont’s Blast of Family Fun Program are the Holiday Inn Midtown, Hampton Inn, LaQuinta Inn & Suites, Days Inn Beaumont, Best Western Jefferson Inn, Knights Inn, Holiday Inn Beaumont Plaza and the MCM Elegante.
